The GXYSearch team are just like the candidates we represent - talented, passionate, fun loving and professional
Since we’re keen to know about you, it’s only fair we fess up too ...
GXYSearch is Mel's baby. After 15 years in senior HR roles, Mel decided to create the recruitment agency she always wanted to hire from. GXYSearch reflects Mel's personality: passionate, warm and loud!
Immediately before starting GXYSearch Mel was the HR Manager Australia/NZ at Rip Curl and prior to that she held similar roles including National HR Manager of Adidas
Mel loves a good laugh and connects with all sorts of weird and wonderful people. Of late this includes Ziggy the Acupuncturist and Master Liu the Tai Chi Master. Her teenage love of Kurt Russell, particularly in his “Big Trouble in Little China” days, Mel has officially thrown away the doctors number and is now all over Chinese medicine.
Everyday Mel reads the team the Tao; daily Chinese meditations to remind us that the storm never lasts. Inline with Mel’s adoption of Eastern culture the very appreciative team, who have recently renamed her ‘very wise boss’, now go on monthly team building excursions - see our scrapbook page for photos of us hiking the Kokoda trail!
Yvonne is our star people person, loved by clients and candidates alike. She has worked in a wide range of industries, from legal to fashion recruitment. Her qualifications are in arts, but just like the candidates she represents, she can't be stereotyped.
Her love for dogs often catch our candidates by surprise she has been known to cross streets, even when she is with a candidate, if she spots a cute dog! But no dog can replace her roley poley pug Obie!
Yvonne wins the office prize for being a shop-a-holic, we all love fashion and shopping, but Yvonne is something else, often wearing a brand new item of clothing to work throughout the week, and then going into "shoppers denial" claiming... "it's not new"... YEAH RIGHT!!!!
She's a self-confessed foodie who lives for adventure travel. Her favourite hot spots LA, Miami and Costa Rica.
Jo is our authentic gen y extraordinator!! She makes sure we understand how those gen y minds tick!!
Jo has studied a Bachelor of Commerce at Melbourne Uni and prior to joining GXY spent two years working in banking and finance executive search. 2009 sees her go back to part-time study to complete her MBA.
She loves to party, she loves to network and to meet people, she loves long walks along the beach blah… blah… blah… no actually…. this gen y is like no other!! Her quirky obsessions include things such as stickmen cartoons, google maps street view & shopping at uncle bucks crazy bargains for the prefect novelty accessory to make any function a dress up party!
In her spare time she is on the internet looking for cool websites or busy practising to be a famous dj. Our only advice would be….. do not try to beat her in a board game (this chick is competitive), feed her peas and mashed potato (eww?!) or tell her she can’t wear her havaianas (even if it is freezing outside)!!
Chrissy has loads of experience int he sporting and apparel sector, having worked for adidas and Fila, most recently as a Retail Operations Mgr. Before this, she worked for Tennis Australia and the Australian Open as their Merchandising and Events Mgr.
Chrissy firmly denies being a "yummy mummy" despite having been sited in full make-up at 7.30am just "picking up a latte" after her personal training session ! In her defence, she does hoover up those bourbon and cokes like a true country girl ....
Sick and tired of watching all our candidates bringing back the latest trends from their overseas buying trips,
Chasing her Australian lover, Ellen has relocated from the
With a family entrenched in the music industry, Ellen has grown up in a world of Gen Y! Determined to pursue her passion for music, fashion and youth orientated industries Ellen has jumped on board the GXY wagon.
She can’t get enough of the Australian sun, this girl loves being outside, including the occasion spot of leisurely cycling. On her ipod you will find: Band of Horses, Tori Amos, Bat for Lashes, Johnny Cash & The Streets.

Charlie, our high maintenance office bitch (no pun intended), was acquired by Mel one lonely Saturday night after a few glasses of red- purchased to decrease stress levels and increase staff moral- Charlie has proven to be quite the challenge.
After putting in numerous emergency calls to Ian from Oz dogs, we are slowly learning how to say no to her ‘oh so sweet’ puppy dog eyes.
High maintenance is no under statement, refusing dried food, Charlie will only eat the finest cuts of organic dog meat. She is at her happiest, and most peaceful i.e. no barking, when she is sitting in our beanbags chewing on a beefy bone…
So if you hear a bark and carry on when you are on the phone to us next, no, we do not operate in a torturous dog house, Charlie is simply refusing discipline, fighting Ruby (the puppy next door) or trying to escape her playpen!
